Kyu June Hwang

Managing Director of Meridien Partners. Prior to Meridien Partners, he was in charge of mergers and acquisitions team at Chase Manhattan Bank’s Seoul Branch. He helped set up the mergers and acquisitions team at Bankers Trust in Korea, where his main focus also included private equity placements. Prior to Bankers Trust, he was an assistant manager at Samsung Display Devices where he focused on overseas acquisitions and investments. He played a key role in advising Samsung’s acquisitions of the Berlin Color Picture Tube Plant. He played a key role in advising Bell Canada International in its $265 million investment in Hansol PCS, a wireless telephone operator. Mr. Hwang is responsible for identifying and analyzing opportunities and providing restructuring expertise. Mr. Hwang has been involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions transactions in Korea such as Korea Life Insurance, Dongmitec, Kukdong Electric Wire, etc. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA in economics from Korea University.
